Fernando Pessoa is one of the most important figures in Portuguese literature and one of the greatest poets of the 20th century.
His work is marked by extraordinary complexity and originality, especially through the creation of his heteronyms, which are not simple pseudonyms, but complete literary personalities, with their own biographies, styles and visions of the world. The three best known are Alberto Caeiro, Ricardo Reis and Álvaro de Campos.
