Simply Adília

Adília Lopes is one of the most unique voices in contemporary Portuguese poetry. Born in Lisbon, her writing is characterised by seemingly simple language, marked by humour, irony and references to everyday life. In her poems, themes such as loneliness, the female condition, childhood and marginality emerge in a direct and provocative way, challenging literary and social conventions. Her work stands out for its originality and ability to transform the mundane into poetic material.
