
Created in 2010 by FEUP's SDI, this young Reading Club aims to deepen the literary foundations of students, professors, technicians and other FEUP employees, promoting reflection and debate around authors, themes and works of undeniable literary value.
On 10 April, from 1pm to 2pm, there will be another session of the Reading Club. We have invited Susana Medina and Henriqueta Sampaio da Nóvoa to this commemorative and retrospective session of these fifteen years of existence. The moderator will be Rui Calçada, Director of the Faculty of Engineering. The session will take place in the library, on Level 0, room C003 (former Bookshop).
Susana Medina has a degree in History (Art variant) from FLUP, a postgraduate qualification in European Cultural Planning from De Montfort University (Leicester, UK, 2006) and a master's degree in Museology (FLUP, 2008). She was responsible for the museum project at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) and coordinator of the AGORA team, which organises the FEUP Reading Club, until July 2022. She currently works as a museologist at the Soares dos Reis National Museum (Porto).
Henriqueta Sampaio da Nóvoa is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, Portugal, in the area of Industrial Engineering and Management, with a degree in Electrical Engineering (1983) and a PhD in Engineering Sciences from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (2000). From 1983 to 1989 she worked as a production engineer at Texas Instruments Portugal, and in 1990 she joined the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto as a lecturer.
In addition to the session, SDI has also created an exhibition to commemorate the fifteenth anniversary of the Reading Club. The exhibition will also open on 10 April at 2pm and can be visited until 16 May, Monday to Friday, from 8.30am to 7.30pm, at the Library's Exhibition Room - Floor 0.
