Bibliophilia|| A (Lost) Love of Books
The FEUP Library's "Vamos a Livros" will dedicate the month of May to Bibliophilia.
Bibliophilia is the art of collecting books, paying special attention to some of their particularities. Bibliophiles value not only the content of the book but also its physical beauty, such as special bindings, illustrations and limited editions. Bibliophiles may spend hours in bookshops, second-hand booksellers or libraries simply browsing through old books. They appreciate the smell of books and prefer reading physical books to digital versions.
To promote this pleasure, the FEUP Library highlights a selection of books that tell us about bibliophilia and bibliophiles, but also present this passion for books from reading to writing.
Next May 18, at 1pm in the FEUP Library, there will also be a Reading Club session dedicated to this theme.
